Traveling to Greece
Whether it is the beauty of Mykonos or the awesomeness of the Parthenon, Greece has something for everyone. This beautiful country is filled with history and legends from the ancients; the birthplace of democracy and the home of Greek tragedies. If you are looking to travel to Greece, there are a few basic things to keep in mind.
• Research. Before you hop on a flight overseas, make sure that you’re getting the best deal. A quick internet search will provide you with dozens of different airliners that offer great deals for flying into Greece.
• Know the Local Lingo. Knowing a little bit of the local language never hindered any foreign traveler’s experience. Learn the basic phrases for “goodbye,” “Nice to meet you,” “thank you,” and so forth. You’ll make the locals happy, and it will be especially helpful when you are bartering with traders in the marketplace.
• Create an Itinerary. Never head overseas unless you have a general idea of what you want to do. In Greece, there are lots of ruins and historical landmarks to visit, like the Parthenon. You might be surprised as to how many other attractions you can find if you do a quick internet search.
• The Culture. Greek people are very friendly and, because of the large tourist crowd from Europe, used to tourists roaming their streets. Many of them can speak English, so you don’t have worry about speaking their language fluently.
• Eateries. Greece is almost as famous for its food as it is for its architecture. You will find quaint Greek cafes and coffee shops along almost every street you visit.
